Aleksandra has peaked on the coveted Beatport charts for her production, "Sibling Rivalry" which she co-produced with her brother Jake Chec. She's opened for the likes of Steve Porter, Alex Kenji and Hatiras. She has been on the same bill as, Sasha, Erick Morillo, Hernan Cattaneo, John Acquaviva, Christopher Lawrence and Ferry Corsten.
By far not a one-dimensional DJ/producer Aleksandra delivers a blend of chunky, rolling, phat tech-house, techno, deep house and electro. This versatility is what keeps Aleksandra one of Canada's fastest risers within its electronic music scene.
Aleksandra has been DJing for seven years and has landed a coveted residency inside The Guvernment (Toronto), but is also in frequent rotation at The Boom Boom Room (Windsor), Footwork (Toronto) and Comfort Zone (Toronto). She has also played throughout Ontario, Quebec, USA and Poland. In addition, she was on the bill for the infamous Freedom event held annually at The Guvernment. However, she also finds the time and devotes her efforts to spinning at numerous charitable events for breast cancer awareness and a local animal sanctuary.
Aleksandra comes from a musical family where she was born in Italy of Polish descent, but raised in Canada. Both her parents are professional musicians with master degrees in music, so it was only natural she pursue it in some way. She currently attends Ryerson University for Business Management and is also a teaching assistant.
Moving forward with her career we'll see more great productions coming out, expanding into the USA, and her mixes continuing to air on the Executive Mix (100.7FM Toronto), Frisky Radio (USA), Night Clip ( Brazil ) and more.
Aleksandra is well on her way to being one of Canada's greatest musical exports showcasing skills and versatility which erupts dance floors everywhere. This combined with a strong work ethic is what keeps her in such high demand.

The Collaboration
International Clubber is proud to present to you a very special collaboration between Hidden Recordings and our Techno Travelers. Every journey needs a song, a music track to serve as a backdrop for the unfolding of the adventure. As our Techno Travelers journey to Berlin, the Lion's Den of Techno, Deepak Sharma, one of New York's premiere minimal Techno DJ's, has gifted us with a very special pre-release track to keep us in the right groove. [HIDDEN 010HR] GREGORY SHIFF "I'm With an Animal" includes remixes by Adultnapper T.Rohr, Pheek, Deepak Sharma + Dieter Krause. Look for it soon, out on Hidden Recordings label. In the mean time, you get a very special preview of this soon to be released gem, playing now on our Techno Travelers site.
The Man: Deepak Sharma
In the transient world of dance music where DJs come and go, few have the will, patience and devotion to stay relevant in the ever changing landscape of ‘the scene’. Deepak Sharma has carved his own path, and with passion and focus has been able to keep his finger on the pulse as techno continues to evolve.
Born in New Delhi, India, but raised State-side, Deepak recalls the early days of his childhood watching and listening to his mother strum the sitar for hours on end. Unbeknownst to him, that sound would have an influence later in life. Deepak found himself gravitating towards a wide range of music from jam bands to hip-hop where strong lyrics and the beat would evoke an impulsive emotion. Throughout all of this was his mantra that music should elicit a response, but still needs to be fun.
Fast forward to today, you have one of the most consistent players in techno, from releasing a mix compilation in 2004 that De:Bug Magazine called one of the best mix comps they’ve heard in ages, to traveling globally to DJ, starting his own label Hidden Recordings while collaborating with Germany’s Dieter Krause. Over the past four years, Hidden Recordings has gone from a small digital dream, to a budding international label beloved by thousands throughout the globe. Growing from the duo to releasing artists hailing from Europe, North and South America both vinyl and digitally, further distinguishing Hidden Recordings from the rest.
The Label: Hidden Recordings
Hidden Recordings (www.hidden-recordings.com) is owned by Deepak Sharma with partner Dieter Krause, and is one of the world's fastest rising and growing techno labels in the world. Since 2006 Hidden Recordings has provided a wide range of techno to hundreds of DJs and fans. The label's sound ranges from deep techno to atmospheric chill-out with quirky, groovy bass lines and has been played in big room gigs, festivals, to smaller lounges and early morning terraces.
The press has taken notice of the duo's rising popularity, with DJ Times placing Hidden Recordings on the cover of the April 2009 issue along with a feature within the magazine on the label. AOL Music's Spinner.com comparing their sound and style to minimal techno giants Lusine, Superpitcher, Booka Shade along with Alex Smoke and Gui Boratto. In addition the duo has been reviewed in prominent magazines such as XLR8R, DJ Times, Time Out New York, MixMag (UK), Trax (France) and Raveline (Germany). Global recognition continues to pour in from Europe as the remix of their sixth release produced my Karri O titled 'Ajaton' peaked as the #1 download on Germany's Kompakt-MP3 in December of 2008.
The buzz stirred up by Deepak and Hidden Recordings in 2010 is palpable as the label has seen a dramatic rise and significant impact made through the techno community. Already featured in Time Out New York, Ibiza Voice, Sweatlodge Radio in Berlin and Carl Cox’ Global Radio Show, the upcoming releases have been supported by the world’s most respected and beloved DJs such as Richie Hawtin, Magda, Speedy J, Paco Osuna, Troy Pierce, Cari Lekebusch, Drumcell, Tim Xavier, Stephan Bodzin, Tim Xavier, and Alland Byallo. The feedback speaks for itself, but so does the involvement of 2010 remixers who are some of the most in-demand and beloved names in techno such as Tony Rohr, Adultnapper, Pheek, and Noah Pred who all leant a hand to the 10th and 11th releases. And there is no slowing down with the 12th release in progress now focusing on the label heads, Deepak and Dieter but complete with remixes from the likes of Argenis Brito, Ambivalent, Franklin De Costa, Alexi Delano, Andrea Ferlin, Alland Byallo, Andrew Grant and DJ Seoul. If that wasn't enough, #13 already has remixes completed by John Tejada and Rene Breitbarth. Quite simply, the summer’s releases from Hidden Recordings will be some of the biggest to hit techno this year.
